Meeting on Saturday, Guest Speaker. Positive Experience Guaranteed

Ladies,  We are meeting Saturday in our usual spot and have Joel Aaron, formerly of 920am and now with Americans for Prosperity.
His job is to organize grassroots efforts and AFP has an exciting program I thought everyone would want to learn about. Joel will explain in further detail, but basically it is a professional activism course taught by real trainers who will teach you how to get involved effectively.

There is a group beginning in May, which is why I thought it would be good to get more details now. The course is 12 weeks long, every other week for two hours. So there are 6 classes, 2 hours long each. At the end there is a 4 hour volunteer commitment for AFP. Then you are free to take you skills to any group you wish or use them to be an effective volunteer for a candidate.

I thought some of you might want to get involved and some of you would just be glad there is something out there to give us a voice.

Either way, I hope to see you all on Saturday. If you can't make it, we will have information and literature to pass on. I know that Joel said he would be bringing some applications if this is something you want to do.

I was thrilled to meet with Joel and learn of something that would be empowering and encouraging for us.

So this is not a Debbie Downer meeting. This is a positive meeting offering solutions to our feelings of helplessness.

I look forward to seeing you all and if you can't make it, but want information let me know at

Well ladies, we had a handful of people and a lively, well managed discussion at our last meeting with an unfortunate conclusion that there's not much we can to do as individuals to turn this ship around.

I know how I feel and I think I speak for most of us in that we feel betrayed by those we work hard to elect (Tom Price, Jody Hice etc) and we feel there is no right party- just one that is out front with their lies and deceit and the one that schemes behind our backs. We feel our country may be too far gone to rescue and freedom and liberty will be things we talk about in past tense to our grandkids.

Now that I have some time to think... (I was laid off and at home full time) I am going to make an effort to get some energetic speakers to come (in my best Hans and Franz voice) Pump Us Up!

I am in contact with Joel Aaron formerly of 920 AM now with Americans for Prosperity. He is willing to speak to us and connect us to some other groups with whom we might want to plug-in so that we feel more uplifted after our meeting.

Question for you all:

We are currently meeting the second Saturday of the month. Upcoming meetings are
March 14, April 11 (weekend after Easter) May 9 (mother's day weekend) and June 13th.

Is one of these weekends better than other for guest speakers?

Please think about your schedules and let me know. I aim to make our meetings more encouraging than they have been of late.

First Meeting of 2015- Jan 10th, 9am, our usual place

Happy New Year,
My year started off optimistic, but yesterday, my new congressman broke his campaign promise and voted to keep the Speaker. Then he put out some fluff press release with a crappy excuse. So it looks like I have a new pen-pal. Jody Hice- you are on notice.

Need to vent? Come to our SMIA meeting on Saturday.  I have been working the early early shift- 6am and I miss Bill's show. I can't wait for you all to fill me in.

I hope everyone had a great holiday season and some R&R. Now it's time to be vigilant and stand guard. Fingers crossed that yesterday was a speed bump and that this new year and new Congress will take some needed and positive action.

See you at our meeting.
